Hello! I was born and raised in Leiden, but moved to the Galápagos Islands for love. Together with Waldemar and our two children, Olivia and Dante, I live on Santa Cruz Island. Our home is full of languages: Dutch, English, Spanish, and even Portuguese. Since 2019, we’ve run a small, locally based, specialized travel agency. Unlike many other agencies that offer standard trips and have little firsthand experience of the islands. Our focus is entirely on personal contact which is what makes my work so enjoyable. When a traveler leaves a message on our website, we schedule a call. During this call, I can get a clear sense of what kind of traveler they are. Using their preferences and my knowledge of the islands, I create a completely personalized travel plan. No two itineraries are the same, because no two travelers are the same. The most beautiful place on Earth is my office, and I absolutely love giving travelers an unforgettable experience in the Galápagos Islands.

Despite that I grew up on the Galapagos islands, I’m still amazed every day. The area has so much to offer! For instance, recently after a long day of diving I encountered hundreds of dolphins. They swam alongside the boat and jumped out of the water every now and then. And when the pink land iguana was discovered a few years ago, I was so excited that I couldn’t sleep for a week. It’s just incredible that this is the place I can call home! Doing what you love is freedom. Loving what you do is happiness. And I experience that happiness every day when I go ‘to work’. Nature is my biggest passion. And I love sharing my passion. As a guide, I try to show you all the most beautiful places, and I share all my knowledge. Facts about geology, ecology, (marine) biology, herbology, ornithology, or whatever you’re most interested in.

At Galápagos Unique Paradise, we show you the islands like no one else can: through the eyes of a local. Personal contact is always our top priority. We don’t believe in“travel experts” who offer trips without ever having been here, nor in standard, one-size-fits-all itineraries. Every traveler has different wishes and needs, which is why we first take the time to listen. Then, we create a fully personalized travel plan, tailored to exactly what you want to experience.We take care of everything from start to finish. Because we manage our own tours, we maintain maximum flexibility and can always provide the best local tips and hidden gems on the spot. Upon arrival, travelers are welcomed at the airport, followed by a comprehensive introduction and briefing. During this time, we also explain how to reach us at night if needed. In addition, there is a daily briefing to check in on how things are going and to prepare you for the day ahead. Where are you going tomorrow? What’s useful to bring?
